Hello, I am new to this site. I am not even sure that I have interstitial cystitis but I think that I do. I had an MRI on my pelvic region a few months ago and it showed a thickening bladder wall. The urologist didn’t seemed to worried about it and said to come back in a year. Since then I have had problems at times with urination frequency and some urgency. At one time it was so bad that I went to my regular doctor thinking I had a bladder infection but the test was negative. So, from all that, I have “diagnosed” myself with IC. I don’t have constant pain in the bladder area but I do get shootings pains around the pelvic area at times. I don’t know if this is related or not but I was diagnosed with vitamin B6 toxicity very recently but I don’t know if that can affect the bladder or not.

Based on your symptoms, you could very well have Interstitial Cystitis. I don’t know much about vitamin B6 toxicity but I would not be surprised if once your body has had time to recover, your problems may resolve themselves. Please keep me updated. Wishing you the best of health.

I have a question: Can bubbly urine by a symptom of interstitial cystitis? I have been tested for a UTI’s, protein in urine and for diabetes and all are negative. My urine started getting more bubbly than normal for me about the same time I started having bladder pain.

I have not heard of bubbly urine associated with IC. I can try and see if I can find anything.

I would appreciate that. I have still been diagnosed with IC. I just know that I have bladder inflammation and urine frequency (along with occasional urgency) that I have never had prior to about 4 months ago and all tests for UTI’s, cancers, diabetes, etc. have come back negative so I thought I might have IC. I can’t get into my urologist for over a month. I did pass a kidney stone recently and found out at the ER that I have 2 more in the other kidney so maybe that is creating my problems.
By the way, whether I have IC or not, I really appreciate this site that you have created!

I am sorry I am just responding. I had a bad flare up so I am now just getting back to my blog. I found this information which is interesting – “Several types of bacteria and yeast can form gas in the bladder. A condition called emphysematous cystitis can cause gas in the urine. If you have this, your bladder is inflamed, and there are gas bubbles in or on the bladder wall.”

That is interesting! I really appreciate that because I had not seen that anywhere.
I am sorry about your flare-up. Thanks so much for taking the time to research my question!
