Navigating Interstitial Cystitis (IC) is challenging. I was diagnosed with IC in 1995 so I have lived with this chronic disease for close to 30 years. It took doctors over a year to properly diagnosed me. Unfortunately, there is no cure, but with the help of a good GREAT doctor you can live a long and happy life.
Having support from others is extremely important. Knowing that you are not alone is essential when dealing with a chronic disease like Interstitial Cystitis.
Over these 30 years, not much progress has been made regarding the treatment of Interstitial Cystitis. Basically there has only been 1 drug developed specifically to treat IC. That drug is Elmiron (pentosan polysulfate sodium). Elmiron has been on the market since 1996. Elmiron is still on the market despite numerous lawsuits and studies linking it to vision loss.
I started this blog so I could share things I have learned or experienced with this disease. I always want to hear from others who may have found medications, procedures or therapies that have helped them. Having a sense of community provides a tremendous support for IC warriors. Below is my blog’s logo. So you will see this logo almost everywhere on my blog.

Also, I will occasionally post a graphic that I created. For example see the graphics below. I tagged those graphics with the name Mazoli. I use Mazoli because it is a combination of my 3 daughters’ names.
