Gosha-Jinki-Gan: Natural Solution for Overactive Bladder

Gosha-jinki-gan (GJG) is a Japanese herbal blend of 10 herbs that may improve urinary health by easing overactive bladder symptoms like frequency, urgency, and nighttime urination. Though commonly used in Japan for overactive bladder and nocturia, research in humans with Interstitial Cystitis (IC) is still limited.

Gosha-jinki-gan (GJG) is a blend of 10 traditional herbs 🪴 that help with overactive bladder by increasing the bladder’s capacity and lowering bladder contractions. It reduces frequency, urgency, and nighttime urination in people with the condition.

Some of the herbs included in GJG are:

  • Rehmania glutinosa
  • Cornus officinalis
  • Alisma plantago-aquatica var. orientale
  • Sam
  • Dioscorea japonica
  • Dioscorea opposita
  • Cinnamomum cassia
  • Rehmania glutinosa
  • Achyranthis radix
  • Corni fructus

Gosha-Jinki-Gan is a traditional Japanese herbal blend that is believed to act on the nerves around the bladder, decreasing the urge and frequency to urinate.

While research 🧐 suggests Gosha-jinki-gan (GJG) may have beneficial effects on bladder overactivity in rats 🐀 with Cyclophosphamide CYP-induced cystitis and is used in Japan 🇯🇵 for overactive bladder and nocturia, there’s limited evidence specifically linking GJG to the treatment of interstitial cystitis (IC) in humans.  Cyclophosphamide (CYP)-induced cystitis is a commonly used experimental model to explore pain and inflammation associated with cystitis. It is characterized by mild inflammatory infiltration and increased proinflammatory cytokine gene expression in bladder tissue.

Studies suggest GJG may have an inhibitory 🛑 effect on bladder contractility, potentially reducing urinary urgency and frequency.
