Periodically, I will post “Message BLASTS.” A Message BLAST is a short post containing information that I want to quickly get out.
I added a new page to my blog called “Suicide Prevention Hotlines.” Maneuvering through life with IC is extremely challenging and frustrating. A lot of times you can feel isolated. The medical community says that there is no cure (remission “possibly”) so learning how to live with IC is a necessity.
Having a great support system with any chronic disease like IC is a key factor in how well you deal with the health challenges you face on a daily basis.
I lost someone who I loved and admired to suicide. Feeling like there is no hope can take a toll on a person’s outlook on life, but what I have learned as the years go by is that nothing stays the same. Change is the only constant. And really, the only thing we have control over is how we handle things in life. Sharing your burdens with your family, friends and other supportive sources lightens your load.
If anyone who is in the midst of a crisis, please get the support or help you need to get yourself safely on the other side of it. I am hopeful that having this list of hotlines will be used if needed.
Click here – Suicide Prevention Hotlines Link – to go to the Suicide Prevention Hotlines Page or you can click on the menu link above as well. Any help with keeping this list updated would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to contact me if I need to change or update something on the list. As always, thank you for visiting and contributing to my blog.
I am so sorry you lost someone to suicide. That is a wonderful thing to do by posting the hotline numbers for help!
